I’ll be doing a series of blogposts as I play By Endurance We Conquer, my solo journaling RPG about Antarctic expeditions! I thought it might be fun to do a blogpost series, rather than my usual physical letters.
I did the set up today, prepared everything, and starting tomorrow, I plan to play once a day and post about it until I either get to the South Pole and return, or my expedition perishes. I will be taking on the role of Gunnar Knorr, the expedition leader, leading my team of E.A. Copeland (reporter), Mathieu Caron (explorer), and Hans Bohme (quartermaster), as we move forward into the great snowy unknown!
Changes I made
Rather than dig out my fudge dice (which are somewhere), I’m just gonna use d6s, and treat 1-2 as “-“, 3-4 as ” “, and 5-6 as “+”. I also sleeved my expedition team so I can use a dry erase to mark on the sleeves and wipe the marks off as conditions get checked and unchecked (the cards should be fine, but I figured why not).
Part of why I want to do this is just to stretch. Part is because I had a few ideas for expansion materials I’d like to do. Partly because I want to add more “RP” to the “RPG” part of this “G”.
